Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial at WCSU

Man, President, Legend - what do Lincoln and his legacy mean today?

Throughout 2009, look for events that take critical and scholarly views of the Lincoln legacy and involve the WCSU community in probing, diverse, and fun activities:

  • Lectures
  • Debates
  • Simulations and reenactments

Explorations of issues such as:

  • upward mobility
  • American regionalism
  • the sectional crisis and the Civil War
  • slavery and emancipation
  • Lincoln as politician, statesman, and 19th-century American
  • the impact of these issues on future generations, here and worldwide

The WCSU Lincoln planning committee needs your suggestions for events! Please contact Dr. Burt Peretti at perettib@wcsu.edu or write your suggestion here.
