DaQuan Brooks named Little East Conference Player of the Week

NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA (Feb. 15)— Western Connecticut State University sophomore guard DaQuan Brooks (Bristol, CT) has been named Little East Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week. Freshman guard Ryan Pelletier (Wolcott, CT) was selected LEC Rookie of the Week on Monday.

DaQuan Brooks averaged 33.5 points, four steals, and three assists per game in a 0-2 week for Western Connecticut.

The Bristol, Conn. product scored a career-high 40 points on 13-for-26 from the field against Keene State on Feb. 13. Earlier in the week, he netted 24 points at Rhode Island College. 

For the week, Brooks shot 45.8 percent (22-for-48) from the field and 100 percent (16-for-16) from the charity stripe.

Ryan Pelletier averaged 10 points and 4.5 rebounds per game in a pair on Little East losses this past week for Western Connecticut, while shooting 40 percent (6-for-15) from the floor.

The native of Wolcott, Conn. scored a season-high 16 points and pulled in six boards against Keene State on Feb. 13.
