Faculty Biographical Sketches

Joseph E. Cillizza, Department of Education & Educational Psychology

Dr. Joseph E. Cillizza spent 10 years as a classroom teacher. He has spent the past 33 years as a Full Professor in the Education Department. In addition, Dr. Cillizza served as a Reading Consultant in a Special Act School District in New York, where students were developmentally delayed and emotionally disturbed. His current research interests include use of linguistic comprehension networking in the development of retrieval skills in undergraduate students; use of voice recognition technology to improve the processing skills of special education students; development of cognitive skills in students grade K-12 and college. Dr. Cillizza received a B.A., from the University of Connecticut, a M.Ed. from the University of Hartford, and an Ed.D. from Boston University.
