Faculty Biographical Sketches
Patricia Moreland, Department of Nursing
Ms. Patricia Moreland, who is an Assistant Professor of Nursing, joined the WestConn faculty in the fall of 2004. Ms Moreland received her BSN from Western Connecticut State University in 1999, her MSN from Columbia University in 2003, and is currently a doctoral candidate in the Doctor of Nursing Science Program at Columbia University. Her area of nursing expertise is pediatrics and emergency medicine. She is certified as both a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and an Emergency Nurse. She received the Connecticut Nurse Educator of the Year Award from the Emergency Nurses Association. Her doctoral dissertation research is in the area of family centered care in the emergency department, focusing on the needs of family members of acute and critically ill patients.
