Summer 2010 Financial Aid

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Last week President Obama signed into law a bill to eliminate the Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP) and have all federal student loans originated through the Department of Education’s direct lending program effective July 1st, 2010.

Please be advised that due to  this recent change in the Federal Loan Program if you are interested in applying for your Federal Stafford Loans for Summer 2010 you must complete the summer application and return it to The Office of Student Financial Services on or before June 11, 2010.  There will be no extensions to this deadline.

What is Available?

Federal Family Educational Stafford Loans are available to students for the summer sessions who qualify. There are no grants allocated during the summer sessions.

Who is eligible?

In order to be eligible to apply for a Federal Family Educational Stafford Loan, you must satisfy the following requirements:

  1. Must plan on registering for a minimum of 6 credits during the summer.
  2. Must be matriculated.
  3. Must have a complete Financial Aid file for 2009-2010.
  4. Must have satisfied all previous balances.
  5. Must have a 2.0 GPA.

How to apply?

The student must complete a Summer 2010 School Loan Application. The application is also available in the Office of Student Financial Services in the Old Main Building, Suite 105. Once completed, the application should be submitted to the Office of Student Financial Services. The application is processed within 3 business days, at which time the student should return to the Office of Student Financial Services to discuss their eligibility.
