Tropical Storm Hanna will be lifting northeastward toward the Canadian Maritimes this morning with lingering rain over northeastern New England, while partly to mostly sunny skies are expected in the rest of the region. It will be turning cooler in northern areas with highs in the 60s, but southern sections will be warm as readings top off in the 80s. High pressure will dominate for the start of the work week with plenty of sunshine then showers and thunderstorms are possible on Tuesday. Across the nation, an upper level trough of low pressure will generate scattered showers and thunderstorms from the Georgia and Florida border to southern Texas, while a cold front will be producing scattered showers and thunderstorms over the Great Lakes and the upper Midwest. A nearly stationary front will cause showers and thunderstorms in southern portions of New Mexico and eastern Arizona. A trough of low pressure will result in showers in portions of the upper Rockies. High pressure will dominate over the western quarter of the country with plenty of sunshine and seasonble temperatures.
