DePasqua pursues passion thanks in part to scholarship

Joseph “J.J.” DePasqua has loved everything about weather since at least second grade, when he remembers reading weather books for fun. By the fifth grade he interviewed television forecaster Geoff Fox for a school project about tornadoes in Connecticut. He was hooked.

WestConn was a natural for DePasqua to attend when he I really appreciate those who have donated to help me, but more importantly I value those who have donated to keep many students working hard in school.graduated high school partly because its proximity to his home in Manchester, Conn., would give him plenty of time to spend on his weekend job as a disc jockey. But he was also attracted to the university because of its potential in science.

“When I heard about the new Science Building a couple of years ago, I thought ‘I’d like to be a part of that,’” DePasqua said.

He has been a successful part. Last year, he was awarded the Jonathan Mottley Meteorology Scholarship, given to the meteorology student with the highest grade point average.
